We are excited to announce the installation of our HygroShell – ITECH Research Pavilion 2021/22 at the Chicago Architecture Biennial “This is a Rehearsal”, opening today!
The Project explores a novel self-shaping building system for lightweight single curved surface structures made from timber. The system uses the inherent hygromorphic properties of wood to program the anisotropic shape change into large-scale bilayer sheets.
